May, 2019: The Lummi Nation is bringing the Tokitae Totem Pole back home to the Salish Sea. Join us at blessings and events along the journey from Miami back to Lummi Nation. House of Tears carver Doug Sit Ki Kadem James and Lummi Council member Fredrick Lane will be joined by various speakers, musicians, and local Tribal representatives at each event. On this journey, we are raising awareness and support from Tokitae and her entire qwe ‘lhol mechen (resident Salish Sea orca) family. The qwe ‘lhol mechen are fighting for survival, and we must act boldly to help them. As one Lummi elder has said, “What happens to them, happens to us.”
